\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to launch a province-wide crackdown on housing societies operating without mandatory No Objection Certificates (NOCs) or with allegedly forged ones.
\nThe move was announced during a high-level meeting of Chief Planning and Controlling Officers (CPCOs) of the Peshawar Zone, chaired by Director General of the KP Local Government Building Control Authority, Khizr Hayat Khan, said a handout.
\nThe DG said legal action, including the registration of FIRs, will be initiated against owners of housing societies lacking proper NOCs.
\nThe statement said that societies found to have submitted fake documents will also face prosecution, with cases being forwarded to the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
\n\u201cNumerous complaints have surfaced regarding unauthorized and illegal housing schemes. Some societies have expanded their land areas beyond approved limits, while others have illegally converted agricultural land into commercial use,\u201d said DG.
\nAuthorities will also probe the role of local officials\u2014including patwaris and girdawars\u2014accused of facilitating such irregularities. A letter seeking action against those involved will be sent to the Secretary of Local Government.
\nKhan further warned that marketing unapproved housing societies through publicity campaigns at national and provincial levels was a violation of the KP Private Housing Scheme Management and Regulation Rules 2021.
\nAdditionally, the buying and selling of plot files in societies without NOC has been declared illegal.
\nThe CPCOs were instructed to enforce building bylaws strictly and ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to private housing schemes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
