\nPESHAWAR
\nThe Pakistan People\u2019s Party (PPP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter has announced the launch of a province-wide \u201cSave the Province\u201d movement starting May 26, in protest against what it terms as widespread corruption, poor governance, and the deteriorating law and order situation under the PTI-led provincial government.
\nAddressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club (PPC), PPP Information Secretary Gohar Inqilabi, flanked by senior party leaders including PPP Peshawar founder Tahir Abbas and student wing leaders from the People\u2019s Students Federation (PSF), outlined the reasons for the movement and the party\u2019s demands.
\n\u201cWe congratulate the Pakistan Army for its strong stance against India and pay tribute to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for making Pakistan a nuclear power, and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for her contribution to missile technology,\u201d said Inqilabi. He also praised Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for representing Pakistan on international forums.
\nHe pointed to past scandals such as the Malam Jabba land case and the Peshawar BRT project, stating that accountability institutions have remained silent.
\n\u201cTrillions of rupees have been lost to corruption. Even ministers and advisors accuse each other of wrongdoing, and the Chief Minister himself, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, blames his own cabinet, proving that no one\u2019s hands are clean,\u201d he said.
\nInqilabi criticized the Chief Minister for failing to engage with the opposition or advocate for KP\u2019s rights at the federal level. \u201cRather than fighting for the province, the CM is focused on personal gain,\u201d he alleged.
\n\u201cPolice stations in southern KP remain shut at night, leaving the public at the mercy of terrorists,\u201d he claimed, adding that restoring peace in these areas is a top priority for PPP.
\nHe also accused the federal government of neglecting KP, stating that for the past year and a half, the province has been left \u201corphaned,\u201d with no accountability or support from the center.
\nInqilabi said the PPP will aim to mobilize the working class and particularly the 16,000 employees laid off by the PTI government, calling on them to join the protest. \u201cA major demonstration is scheduled for May 26 in front of the KP Assembly, he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
