MOSCOW
\nUS President Donald Trump has reacted to Russia\u2019s overnight missile raids on Ukraine by insisting that his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin had \u201cgone absolutely crazy for no reason,\u201d despite a week of constant Ukrainian drone raids across Russia involving several hundred UAVs.
\nUkraine significantly intensified its drone attacks inside Russia last week, with at least 764 drones intercepted over Russian territory from Tuesday to Friday, and hundreds more destroyed over the weekend. A helicopter carrying Russian President Vladimir Putin was reportedly caught in the \u201cepicenter\u201d of a massive drone raid while he was visiting Kursk Region on Tuesday.
\nIn response, the Russian military conducted a major strike against a drone and missile production plant in Kiev on Saturday, followed by additional reported strikes on Ukrainian military facilities on Sunday.
\nSpeaking to journalists on Sunday, Trump claimed Russia\u2019s response was unwarranted and said he was \u201csurprised\u201d by what he is seeing.
\n\u201cI\u2019m not happy with what Putin\u2019s doing,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re in the middle of talking and he\u2019s shooting rockets into Kiev and other cities. I don\u2019t like it at all\u2026 We\u2019ll see what I\u2019m going to do.\u201d
\n\u201cI\u2019ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY!\u201d Trump added in a post on Truth Social, claiming that \u201cmissiles and drones are being shot into cities in Ukraine for no reason whatsoever.\u201d
\nTrump also criticized Ukraine\u2019s Vladimir Zelensky, in an apparent reference to his remarks about Washington\u2019s \u201csilence\u201d in response to the latest Russian attacks.
\n\u201cLikewise, President Zelensky is doing his country no favors by talking the way he does. Everything out of his mouth causes problems. I don\u2019t like it, and it better stop,\u201d the US leader stated, reiterating that the Ukraine conflict is \u201cnot his war.\u201d
\nThe Russian Foreign Ministry suggested that the spike in UAV incursions is an attempt to derail the US-brokered peace talks between Moscow and Kiev, while Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that \u201csome European nations led by the UK, France, Germany, and the EU leadership,\u201d who are supporting Kiev and want the conflict to continue, bear some responsibility
\nMeanwhile, Russia and Ukraine have completed a record prisoner exchange, which was agreed to during direct talks in T\u00fcrkiye earlier this month.
