\nForeign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Iran is reviewing a number of approaches put forwarded by Omani mediators towards removing the standing obstacles lying in the way of the indirect talks with the United States.
\nThe top diplomat made the remarks in the capital Tehran on Sunday on the sidelines of an event held to mark the international Africa Day.
\nThe official, however, did not comment on the nature of the potential courses of action that had been proposed by Muscat.
\nThe fifth round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States concluded in Rome on May 23, 2025.
\nSubsequently, Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badral-Busaidi, acting as mediator, noted that the discussions yielded \u201csome but not conclusive progress.\u201d
\nHe, nevertheless, expressed hope that clarifying remaining issues could lead to a \u201csustainable and honorable agreement.\u201d
\nAraghchi, himself, has described the recent negotiations as \u201cone of the most professional\u201d rounds to date, highlighting a \u201cbetter and clearer understanding\u201d of the Islamic Republic\u2019s positions by the American side.
\nThe United States has been demanding — in the same way as its closest regional ally, the Israeli regime — a complete halt to Iran\u2019s peaceful nuclear enrichment activities. Both have also been occasionally calling for total annihilation of the country\u2019s nuclear facilities, though the American side has not come up with the proposal as much as Tel Aviv has.
\nThe Islamic Republic, though, has unexceptionally asserted its sovereign right to continue peaceful enrichment for civilian purposes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
