\nPESHAWAR
\nA weekly review meeting on good governance measures was held with Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah in the chair, with the participation of secretaries and other relevant officials.
\nThe Chief Secretary was given a detailed briefing on the availability and prices of essential food items including flour across the province. The meeting also included a comparative analysis of food prices in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with those in other provinces and at the national level. The Chief Secretary directed that necessary measures be taken in areas where there is a significant difference between the retail price and the sale price.
\nThe meeting was further briefed on initiatives taken to improve the drainage and sewage systems of hotels and restaurants in order to promote tourism in the province. The Galiyat Development Authority issued notices to 40 hotels and restaurants, out of which 29 have improved their drainage and sewage systems. Five hotels that failed to comply with SOPs have been sealed. Similarly, in the Kumrat Development Authority, 8 out of 34 hotels have rectified their systems. In the Kaghan Development Authority, 14 out of 193 hotels have improved their drainage systems, and 3 units have been sealed so far. In the Kalash Valley Development Authority, 6 out of 14 have made necessary improvements. In Upper Swat, 112 hotels have been issued notices, and after the 14-day notice period ends, action will be taken against all non-compliant hotels.
\nThe Chief Secretary stated that the purpose of these actions is to promote tourism through ensuring environmental protection, which will help strengthen local economies. He also directed the concerned authorities to continue consultations with local residents and other stakeholders. He emphasized that the establishment of these authorities aims at the promotion of sustainable tourism in these areas.
\nThe Chief Secretary was also briefed on the launch of the e-office project, progress on public-private partnership initiatives, master planning and land use planning, anti-polio measures, and ongoing development projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
