\nAwami National Party (ANP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Mian Iftikhar Hussain has issued a strong condemnation of the ongoing power crisis, unannounced load shedding, and what he termed as the government\u2019s indifference to the suffering of the people of the province.
\nIn a statement, Mian Iftikhar questioned the logic of depriving citizens of electricity in extreme summer heat, especially when power is being generated using the province\u2019s own natural resources.
\n\u201cWhat kind of system is this, where the very people whose resources generate electricity are left to suffer in the dark? Are the people of KP not equal citizens of this country?\u201d he asked.
\nHe criticized the central government for what he called the continued exploitation of the province\u2019s resources, saying that while others benefit, the burden of sacrifice and suffering falls disproportionately on the people of KP.
\nMian Iftikhar also expressed frustration over the imposition of taxes on solar energy systems, which many citizens turn to out of desperation. \u201cWhen people try to help themselves by installing solar panels, they are taxed. Does the government want them buried alive?\u201d he asked, citing rising inflation and deteriorating living conditions.
\nMian Iftikhar demanded the immediate end of load shedding in KP and the implementation of a fair and just electricity distribution system.
\nHe also expressed full support for the public protest currently taking place in Pabbi, Nowshera, and warned of province-wide demonstrations if the situation was not resolved.
\n\u201cIf the government does not come to its senses, protests will erupt in every district and every village. The patience of the people has run out\u2014now is the time for decisive action,\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
