BRUSSELS
\nHead of Pakistan\u2019s parliamentary diplomatic delegation and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman , Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has restated that resolution of the Kashmir dispute is crucial for regional peace, requesting the United Nations to execute its mandates on the issue.
\nBilawal Bhutto while speaking at a European think tank in Brussels emphasised that India has consistently ignored international resolutions, misrepresenting Kashmir as an internal issue.
\nHighlighting the need for regional stability, Bilawal stressed that peace in South Asia is closely linked to the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions. He highlighted that India-Pakistan tensions will remain unsolvable without addressing the Kashmir dispute.
\nPPP chairman said that India has not yet provided any evidence regarding the Pahalgam attack, despite Islamabad\u2019s offer to investigate the incident. \u201cThe Modi government has yet to present any credible evidence related to the Pahalgam incident,\u201d said Bilawal.
\nHe slammed the Indian government for responding with \u201cunprovoked aggression\u201d rather than engaging diplomatically. \u201cPakistan had offered full cooperation in investigating the matter, but instead, New Delhi chose escalation,\u201d he said.
\nHe said India\u2019s actions amounted to weaponising environmental resources, which could have dangerous consequences. Pakistan has exercised restraint in response to Indian provocations; any further attempt to block water flow would compel Islamabad to consider retaliatory measures, Bilawal warned.
\n\u201cThe suspension of the treaty is equivalent to disrupting peace in the region,\u201d he said, warning New Delhi that Pakistan\u2019s response would be inevitable if India continued on this path.
