\nChief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, chaired a weekly review meeting attended by administrative secretaries and relevant officials to assess progress across multiple governance and service delivery areas, said a handout.
\nA key highlight of the meeting was the ongoing capacity-building initiative for government officers in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project procurement and contract management. It was informed that 20 officers are currently enrolled in a diploma course by NUST, while 23 officers have already obtained the APMG CP3P foundation certification, enhancing their specialization in PPP frameworks.
\nThe meeting also reviewed the prices of 12 essential commodities. Officials briefed that a live dashboard is actively monitoring prices, enabling data-driven oversight. The Chief Secretary directed Deputy Commissioners to engage with wholesalers in districts experiencing supply chain challenges to ensure stability and effective price control mechanisms.
\nShahab Ali Shah emphasized the provincial government\u2019s commitment to delivering maximum relief to the public. A briefing on the releases and expenditures under the development portfolio was also presented, along with updates on the province\u2019s routine immunization efforts and the ongoing polio eradication campaign.
\nThe Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) presented progress updates on several infrastructure projects including the Missing Link of the Northern Section Ring Road, the New General Bus Terminal in Peshawar, and measures to address traffic congestion in the city. The Chief Secretary instructed the concerned departments to improve road furniture along University Road to enhance traffic flow, while ordering immediate initiation of repair works on the Ring Road.
\nFurthermore, the budget for the LUBCA (Land-Use and Building Control Authority) has been approved and the organization has been restructured to accelerate the enforcement of building control measures.
\nThe meeting also reviewed ongoing efforts to ensure proper sewage management systems in hotels and restaurants, particularly in tourist areas. It was noted that 92 establishments have upgraded their sewerage systems in the past 15 days following a provincial directive.
