\nUS B-2 stealth bombers reportedly used Indian airspace to carry out strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, according to regional sources cited in multiple reports on Sunday.
\nSources claimed the US Air Force\u2019s strategic bombers departed from Guam Island in the western Pacific, passed over the Andaman Sea, and then traversed central Indian airspace before reaching their strike zone near Iran via the Arabian Sea.
\nThe route reportedly covered coordinates including 15\u00b0N, 145\u00b0E (Guam), through 10\u00b0N, 95\u00b0\u2013100\u00b0E (Andaman Sea), crossing 20\u00b0N, 75\u00b0\u201380\u00b0E (central India), and reaching the vicinity of 25\u00b0\u201330\u00b0N, 60\u00b0\u201365\u00b0E (near Iran\u2019s borders).
\nThe development comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following recent US airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear sites \u2014 an escalation triggered by over a week of Israeli aggression, according to Iran.
\nDefence analysts have called this a potentially significant signal of India\u2019s evolving strategic role in the region. \u201cThe reported use of Indian airspace by US bombers could mark a new chapter in the regional security calculus,\u201d one analyst told local media.
\nThere has been no official confirmation from the Indian government or the US military regarding the use of Indian airspace for these operations.
\nWashington enters Iran conflict
\nUS forces struck Iran\u2019s three main nuclear sites, President Donald Trump said in a televised speech late on June 21 and he warned Tehran it would face more devastating attacks if it does not agree to peace.
\nThe US strikes included 14 bunker-buster bombs, more than two dozen Tomahawk missiles and over 125 military aircraft, in an operation the top US general, General Dan Caine, said was named \u201cOperation Midnight.\u201d
