PESHAWAR
\nThe authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are planning to impose Section 144 and enforce strict restrictions on weapons and sectarian activities in all sensitive districts from 1st Muharram to Ashura.
\nOfficial from the Home and Tribal Affairs on Monday said in addition, entry of religious speakers and clerics from Punjab, Islamabad, and Sindh into various regions of the province will be restricted. A list of banned individuals will be released in the coming days by the Department of Home and Tribal Affairs.
\nA ban on pillion riding will be enforced in urban areas, along with a prohibition on displaying any kind of weapon or provocative material in public places.<\/p>\n
Some individuals from within the province may also be restricted from traveling outside during this period. Furthermore, construction of temporary structures or posts on rooftops along the routes of religious processions, as well as provocative slogans, will be banned until the conclusion of Ashura.<\/p>\n
The first ten days of Muharram are expected to begin on June 26 or 27, depending on the sighting of the moon, as announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
\nFollowing this announcement, an official provincial notification will be issued, and respective Deputy Commissioners and District Police Officers will instruct their teams accordingly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
