{"id":486505,"date":"2025-06-26T09:17:27","date_gmt":"2025-06-26T04:17:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=486505"},"modified":"2025-06-26T09:17:27","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T04:17:27","slug":"councilors-disapprove-setting-up-of-toll-plaza-in-khyber","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/councilors-disapprove-setting-up-of-toll-plaza-in-khyber\/","title":{"rendered":"Councilors disapprove setting up of toll plaza in Khyber"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> KHYBER<br \/>\nEstablishing a toll plaza on Pak-Afghan highway, Khyber was unanimously rejected by the councilors in the tehsil council meeting held in jirga hall on Wednesday.<br \/>\nIt is to be mentioned here that NHA has planned to erect toll plazas on all major highways including Pak-Afghan highways.<br \/>\nChaired by presiding officer, Wali Muhammad Shinwari, the meeting was attended by Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Shahbaz Khan, Tehsil Chairman Haji Shah Khalid besides a number of village and neighborhood councils chairmen and councilors of Landi Kotal sub-division.<br \/>\nThe local bodies\u2019 representatives thoroughly discussed the issue and collectively rejected the plan of structuring of toll plaza at Pak-Afghan road by the National Highway Authority.<br \/>\nWe will not let anyone steal our resources, they remarked.<br \/>\nThey went on that if attempted to forcibly materialize the plan in the area, they would effectively resist it, the councilors vowed.<br \/>\nThe councilors asked the provincial government to forthwith provide female teaching staff to twenty three State-run girls\u2019 schools in Landi Kotal, suspended due to lack of female teachers.<br \/>\nThey also demanded the provincial government to reserve and bestow a twenty percent budget to the local bodies so that the counselors could play an effective role in the uplift of the people of their constituencies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KHYBER Establishing a toll plaza on Pak-Afghan highway, Khyber was unanimously rejected by the councilors in the tehsil council meeting held in jirga hall on Wednesday.
