\nMiss Pakistan Global Dua-e-Khadija visited Hamza Foundation Welfare Thalassemia Hospital and Special Education Complex (SEC) Hayatabad here on Wednesday to show solidarity with children suffering from thalassemia and various disabilities.
\nShe also stressed upon the need to ensure a safe, healthy and learning environment for these children, so that they may become able to depend on themselves rather than relying on others.
\nShe was accompanied by Syeda Laila Jafri, Director of the Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Implementation Support Unit and Clinical Psychologist Dr. Sabila Naz. Miss Pakistan also distributed gifts and toys among the kids and celebrated the day by cutting a cake with them. During the visit, Hamza Foundation Chairman Ijaz Ali Khan and Special Education Complex Director Syed Ali Bakhsh gave a detailed briefing to the delegation about the services and performances of the relevant institutions.
\nAddressing the occasion, Miss Pakistan Dua-e-Khadija said that she was working to promote girls\u2019 education, discourage child labor and work for the wellbeing of special children. She also made a short film about \u201cImportance of Girls\u2019 Education\u201d, encouraging women for education. \u201cWithout supporting these children, we cannot build a safe, protected and developed society\u201d, she said adding that children suffering from thalassemia and various disabilities need our special focus as they are the most neglected segment of the society, who are facing multiple challenges and difficulties in their daily lives.
\nDua-e-Khadija further said that it is the responsibility of all people to cooperate with these mentally and physically challenged persons and to reduce their sufferings. The other participants emphasized that thalassemia affected children and special kids are an integral part of the society and they should be provided with basic education, training and other opportunities, so as they may become a productive citizen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
