Urges Hamas to accept deal, release of half of the hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners

\nUS President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Israel has accepted a 60-day Gaza ceasefire deal without sharing any details of the plan.
\nHe urged Hamas to agree to what he called a \u201cfinal proposal\u201d for a ceasefire with Israel in Gaza that will be delivered by mediating officials from Qatar and Egypt.
\nIn a social media post, Trump said his representatives had a \u201clong and productive\u201d meeting with Israeli officials about Gaza.
\nHe did not identify his representatives but US special envoy Steve Witkoff, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance were due to meet Ron Dermer, a senior adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
\nTrump said Israel has agreed to the conditions to finalize a 60-day ceasefire, \u201cduring which time we will work with all parties to end the War\u201d. He said representatives from Qatar and Egypt will deliver \u201cthis final proposal\u201d to Hamas.
\n\u201cI hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better \u2014 IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE. Thank you for your attention to this matter!\u201d he said.
\nTrump told reporters earlier in the day that he is hopeful that a ceasefire-for-hostages agreement can be achieved next week between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. He is set to meet Netanyahu at the White House on Monday.
\nHamas has said it is willing to free remaining hostages in Gaza under any deal to end the war, while Israel says it can only end if Hamas is disarmed and dismantled. Hamas refuses to lay down its arms.
\nThe US has proposed a 60-day ceasefire and the release of half of the hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners and the remains of other Palestinians.
\nIsraeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said earlier this week that Israel has agreed to a US-proposed 60-day ceasefire and hostage deal, and put the onus on Hamas.
\nTrump and his aides appear to be seeking to use any momentum from US and Israeli strikes on Iran nuclear sites, as well as a ceasefire that took hold last week in that conflict, to secure a lasting truce for the war in Gaza.
\nTrump told reporters during a visit to Florida that he would be \u201cvery firm\u201d with Netanyahu on the need for a speedy Gaza ceasefire while noting that the Israeli leader wants one as well.
\n\u201cWe hope it\u2019s going to happen. And we\u2019re looking forward to it happening sometime next week,\u201d he told reporters. \u201cWe want to get the hostages out.\u201d
\nDozens of Palestinians killed since dawn
\nMore than 30 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza since dawn today, sources in the territory\u2019s hospitals told Al Jazeera.
\nAmong the deaths were six people killed in a drone strike on tents housing displaced people in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Ten others, most of them children, were injured in the strike, medical sources said.
