PESHAWAR
\nThe 17th meeting of the Board of Governors of Edwardes College Peshawar was held on Thursday at the Governor\u2019s House, chaired by Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi.
\nDuring the session, the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2025\u201326 was presented and discussed in detail. Various administrative and financial matters were also reviewed.
\nThe board was informed that full scholarships have been awarded to six students from the merged districts, while a total of 500 students have benefitted from scholarship programs.
\nThe meeting proposed the formation of a Human Resource Committee and the initiation of a financial performance audit to enhance transparency and efficiency.
\nThe board conditionally approved the 2025\u201326 budget while deciding to defer several key institutional decisions until a permanent principal is appointed.
\nAddressing the meeting, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed concern over the prolonged absence of a permanent principal, saying that it has adversely impacted the academic, financial, and administrative affairs of the college.
\nHe emphasized the importance of Edwardes College as a prestigious and historic institution not only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but across Pakistan, and stressed the need to streamline its governance and financial systems.
\nProminent attendees included Imtiaz Hussain Gilani, Nasir Ali Khan, Dr. Qibla Ayaz, Bishop Humphrey Sarfraz Peter, Adnan Jalil, Professor Shujaat Ali, and other board members.
\nMeanwhile, a delegation from Takht-e-Nasrati Karak led by PPP Women Wing\u2019s Information Secretary MPA Meher Sultana Advocate met Governor Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House regarding the relocation of the local court.
\nThe delegation included former law minister Malik Zafar Azam, senior PPP leaders Jehanzaib Khattak, Khursheed Alam, and others.
\nThe Governor was briefed in detail and assured full support, issuing immediate orders to relevant authorities for addressing the issue and other local concerns raised during the meeting.
\nSimilarly, Open Public Day was held at Governor House, drawing large crowds from across the province.
\nGovernor Faisal Karim Kundi remained present among the people, listening to their concerns and complaints regarding various government departments.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, the Governor said that the Open Public Day has been designated to directly hear citizens\u2019 issues and issue immediate directives to relevant departments for timely resolution.
\nHe emphasized that staying connected with the public and taking practical steps to address their problems is his top priority.
