\nUS State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce has reaffirmed that President Donald Trump and senior members of his administration were actively involved in negotiations that helped secure a ceasefire between Pakistan and India in May.
\nApparently contradicting New Delhi\u2019s remarks, Bruce said: \u201cSo many comments speak for themselves,\u201d she said. \u201cThat\u2019s one of the good-news aspects of our modern world \u2014 people can see what\u2019s really occurring. You\u2019re not reliant on a comment to know what has really happened.
\nPresident Trump has repeatedly said to have brokered Pakistan-India ceasefire, while the Indian government has consistently denied any US involvement in the process. \u201cEveryone will have an opinion. That is an opinion. Some opinions are wrong; mine rarely are. But other people\u2019s opinions can be wrong,\u201d Bruce said while speaking at a State Department media briefing in Washington.
\nShe further highlighted the rapid technological advances that allow news consumption on smartphones and other devices, enabling greater clarity and understanding of global affairs. \u201cThe exponential speed of technology change\u2026 reminds many of us how quickly things will change, how much information we can get, and the seriousness of making up our own minds when it comes to the things the world puts upon us,\u201d she added.
\n\u201cDonald Trump is here to make that easier and help use this to make things clear. In May this year, Pakistan and India engaged in the military confrontation triggered by April\u2019s Pahalgam attack in IIOJK.
\nIn response to the Indian aggression, Pakistan\u2019s armed forces launched a large-scale retaliatory military action, named \u201cOperation Bunyan-um-Marsoos\u201d, and targeted several Indian military targets across multiple regions.
\nPakistan downed its six fighter jets, including three Rafales, and dozens of drones. After at least 87 hours, the war between the two nuclear-armed nations ended on May 10 with a ceasefire agreement brokered by the US.
\nThe ceasefire was first announced by US President Donald Trump on social media after Washington held talks with both sides, but India has differed with Trump\u2019s claims that it resulted from his intervention and threats to sever trade talks.
