\nBarrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, said here Sunday that the provincial government was utilizing all possible resources to ensure law and order in the province, curb extremism in tribal districts, protect journalists, rehabilitate victims of the Swat tragedy, and implement effective measures at tourist sites.
\nHe expressed these views while responding to questions from host Fazal Khaliq Khan during the program \u201cHaal Ahwal\u201d on Pakhtunkhwa Radio FM 98 Swat.
\nAthough the law and order situation in recent months has been concerning, the government has significantly increased the budget to enhance the capacity of the police, CTD, and other institutions.
\nHe said that intelligence sharing was being improved in tribal districts, and efforts are underway to establish lasting peace by taking local elders into confidence.
\nThe government was also in contact with federal authorities for modern weapons, vehicles, and training.
\nOn the question of the Swat River tragedy, he admitted that initially, the performance of the local administration and rescue agencies was not satisfactory. The government has received the inquiry report of the incident, and action was being taken against those responsible.
\nFinancial assistance has been provided to the affected families, and action was ongoing against hotel owners and illegal constructions.
\nIn terms of safety measures at tourist sites, Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif said that the government was considering giving legal status to tourism guidelines, in order to establish a coordinated system between local administration, hotel owners, and tourists.
\nNew equipment, a mobile app, and training workshops are being introduced to enhance the capabilities of Rescue 1122.
\nResponding to questions about journalist protection, the Information Advisor said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched an insurance scheme, welfare fund, and training programs for the well-being of journalists. Journalists reporting from sensitive areas such as Swat, Waziristan, and others are being provided with safety training and additional facilities.
\nSaif said that the law and order situation in Swat is exemplary, but to maintain this peace, not only institutions but every individual in society must play their role with national awareness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
