TEHRAN
\nIran is not in any hurry to enter into ill-advised negotiations over its nuclear program, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said.
\nSpeaking to reporters on the sidelines of a meeting with foreign ambassadors in Tehran on Saturday, Araqchi said Iran is evaluating the time, location, format, and arrangements of any future negotiations as well as the necessary assurances.
\nWhile Iran is not in any hurry to enter into ill-considered negotiations, it would not miss any opportunity to fulfill the interests of the Iranian nation, the foreign minister added.
\n\u201cWe are meticulously assessing the conditions and evaluating all aspects. We will take the necessary measures at any time and place that would ensure the interests of Iranian people,\u201d he said.
\nAraqchi emphasized that the doors of diplomacy are never slammed shut. \u201cIt is possible to exercise diplomacy and attain the goals through it in all circumstances. However, we are doing the job cautiously and self-confidently.\u201d
\nIn a recent interview with Le Monde earlier this week, Araqchi said that in order for the talks on Tehran\u2019s nuclear program to restart, it must be guaranteed that the US does not take military action amid negotiations.
\nWhile the Zionist regime waged a war of aggression against Iran on June 13 and struck Iran\u2019s military, nuclear and residential areas for 12 days, the US stepped in and conducted military attacks on three nuclear sites in Iran\u2019s Natanz, Fordow and Isfahan on June 22.
\nThe Iranian military forces conducted powerful counterattacks immediately after the aggression. The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force carried out 22 waves of retaliatory missile strikes against the Zionist regime as part of Operation True Promise III that inflicted heavy losses on cities across the occupied territories.
\nAlso, in response to the US attacks, Iranian armed forces launched a wave of missiles at al-Udeid air base in Qatar, the largest American military base in West Asia.
