\nThe National Highway Authority (NHA) has been given task to accelerate progress and construction work on 5 mega infrastructure projects across the country.
\nIncluding M-6 Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway, M-10 Northern Bypass and the Kaghan-Naran roads, recent projects would be expedited, Abdul Aleem Khan told the meeting. Chairing a high-level meeting, Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized that all four Provinces are of equal importance and NHA must complete its developmental initiatives in line with national priorities without any delay.
\nFederal Minister Communications announced that Rs. 100 billion has been allocated this year for development work in Balochistan with swift action to commence on N-25 and other key road projects in the province.
\nHe directed that new Motorways should be constructed under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and that projects nearing 90% completion must be finalized with specific deadlines to enable inauguration by the Prime Minister. Highlighting the significant increase in NHA revenue, Abdul Aleem Khan appreciated the performance of the officers of NHA and issued new targets for the next fiscal year.
\nHe directed the NHA to invest Rs. 150 billion collected from its own resources into the construction of new Highways. Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan also approved recommendations for development schemes in all four provinces and given sanction all the proposed new projects for Gilgit-Baltistan. He issued directives for the construction of wider roads, waiting areas and protective fence in the BB province.
\nDuring the briefing, it was clarified that the Lahore-Kasur Road has no connection to Raiwind. Senior officials including the Federal Secretary for Communications and the Chairman of NHA updated the Federal Minister for Communications on key departmental affairs and the progress of ongoing projects nationwide.
\nFurthermore, Abdul Aleem Khan instructed NHA to develop a new financial plan and prepare feasibilities studies for proposed projects of the National Highway Authority across the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
