\nDeputy Commissioner Swat, Saleem Jan, has pledged to protect the scenic beauty and ecological integrity of River Swat, declaring that the district administration will remove every obstacle standing in the way of preserving this natural treasure.
\nIn an conversation with our correspondent on Friday, DC Saleem Jan said, \u201cThe River Swat is not just a lifeline for this valley, but also a symbol of its natural identity. We will go to any extent to maintain its purity, beauty, and free flow.
\nThe deputy commissioner revealed that he has called for all revenue records from the relevant departments to identify and take firm action against encroachments on the riverbanks. He emphasized that illegal constructions and activities along the river will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
\nExpressing deep concern over reports of unlawful sand mining and transportation from the riverbed, DC Saleem Jan said, \u201cI continue to receive complaints about illegal extraction and movement of sand from the river. Our teams have launched operations to curb these practices. The full machinery of the district administration is being mobilized to ensure the river is protected.\u201d
\nHe reassured residents and visitors that River Swat is currently flowing at a safe, normal level, with no threat of flooding. \u201cTourists are most welcome to visit Swat. There is no danger, and they can freely enjoy the valley\u2019s cool breezes, lush landscapes, and peaceful environment,\u201d he added.
