PESHAWAR
\nThe Government of the Netherlands, in collaboration with the Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP), has approved funding for the rehabilitation and solarization of a government primary school in Badizai, a suburban area of the provincial capital.
\nThe initiative, facilitated through the dedicated efforts of Chairman Badizai Haji Obaidullah Khan Khalil and the support of the Netherlands Government, aims to improve sanitation facilities and promote a safe, healthy learning environment for schoolchildren\u2014particularly girls.
\nFollowing the project\u2019s approval, a field visit was conducted by the Badizai Welfare Committee to assess on-ground conditions and engage the local community.
\nThe visit was attended by senior SRSP official Sultan Mahmood, technical experts, and community leaders.
\nThe primary objective of the visit was to consult the community for the third time as part of the planning process and to ensure transparency in the project\u2019s financial management. During the visit, the first installment of funds was officially transferred to the school\u2019s Parent-Teacher Council (PTC) account.
\nThis disbursement will enable immediate commencement of the repair and construction of wash blocks and bathroom facilities.
\nVillage elders and community members welcomed the initiative, praising the transparency of the process and expressing satisfaction with the project\u2019s progress. Local leaders highlighted that the development will significantly enhance the educational environment and ensure better hygiene and safety for female students.
