{"id":496217,"date":"2025-08-12T02:04:18","date_gmt":"2025-08-11T21:04:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=496217"},"modified":"2025-08-12T02:04:18","modified_gmt":"2025-08-11T21:04:18","slug":"shadman-police-station-siege-arson-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/shadman-police-station-siege-arson-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Shadman police station siege, arson case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Qureshi acquitted, Yasmin others awarded sentence<br \/>\nATC Judge Manzar Ali Gill hands down five years to Aliya Hamza, Sanam Javed<br \/>\nLAHORE<br \/>\nPTI senior leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been acquitted in the cases related to siege and arson of Shadman police station and torching police vehicles.<br \/>\nAnti Terrorism Court (ATC) has announced decision in both the cases related to May 9 violence.<br \/>\nDr Yasmin Rashid, Mian Mehmood ur Rashid , Ejaz Chaudhry and Umar Sarfraz Cheema were awarded 10 years sentence each in jail.<br \/>\nJudge Manzar Ali Gill of ATC Lahore announced decision in Kot Lakhpat jail.<br \/>\nTrial of 19 accused was completed in Shadman police station torching case.<br \/>\nThe accused include Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Yasmin Rashid, Omar Sarfaraz Cheema, Ejaz Chaudhry, Mian Mehmood ur Rashid, Sanam Javed and Aliya Hamza.<br \/>\nThere are 41 accused nominated in the case while 15 accused have been declared proclaimed offenders.<br \/>\n6 accused are in the custody of police while one accused has died in police station Shadman torching case. Cases against the accused are registered under terrorism and other clauses.<br \/>\nTrial in respect of case of torching vehicles outside bakery was completed in Kot Lakhpat jail.
