\nAwami National Party (ANP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that most districts of the province have been severely affected by the recent floods, with dozens of lives lost and houses destroyed in Swabi, Buner and other areas.
\nHe said that in Swabi alone about 40 people have died, while more than 40 houses have been completely demolished. Farms and fields have also been ruined, leaving communities devastated.
\nMian Iftikhar criticized the government and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) for failing to provide timely assistance. He condemned reports from Buner that the Deputy Commissioner allegedly restricted NGOs and diverted relief goods to specific groups, calling it \u201ccondemnable\u201d and urging that aid be distributed without discrimination.
\nHe demanded that the government immediately provide food, clean water, tents and accommodation for displaced families, and deploy machinery to the affected areas. \u201cThe machinery held back in Islamabad for political purposes should be brought to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and used for public service,\u201d he added.
\nThe ANP leader said his party, along with Khudai Khidmatgar Tanzeem, was already assisting flood victims, and appealed to the public and social institutions to extend maximum support. \u201cThis is not the time for politics but for serving humanity,\u201d he stressed, urging provincial and federal governments to take swift and practical measures for relief and rehabilitation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
