Muzzammil calls for restructuring of 11th NFC award.

\nAdvisor to the Chief Minister on Finance, Muzammil Aslam, has said that on the directives of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department has released an additional Rs220 million for Rescue 1122, which has been on the frontline during the recent floods.
\nHe said more than 2,000 personnel and 163 vehicles of Rescue 1122 took part in flood operations, rescuing 5,200 people and setting up three emergency camps, said a handout.
\nMr Aslam added that 80 elite rescue units and 50 rescuers equipped with gadgets were deployed to intensify relief efforts.
\nIn a separate statement, the finance advisor welcomed the constitution of the 11th National Finance Commission (NFC) but stressed the need to restructure the award in line with new realities. He pointed out that no change had been made in vertical and horizontal distribution from the 7th to the 10th NFC awards, despite the 25th Constitutional Amendment that merged FATA into KP.
\nMuzammil Aslam said the NFC should factor in population changes, geographical adjustments, and backwardness. He recalled that KP had organized a seminar in Islamabad on February 24 to highlight the issue, while the chief minister had raised it at top forums including the Council of Common Interests (CCI) and National Economic Council (NEC).
\nHe expressed hope that the 11th NFC would ensure fairer horizontal distribution, with backwardness included as a key determinant in resource sharing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
