\nChairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, and Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, held an important meeting at the Chairman Senate\u2019s residence in Islamabad.
\nThe discussion primarily focused on enhancing institutional cooperation between the two Houses of Parliament and strengthening parliamentary coordination on national and international issues.
\nChairman Senate briefed the Speaker on the preparations for the upcoming Inter-Parliamentary Speakers\u2019 Conference, scheduled to be held on 11th and 12th of November 2025. He informed that the event will bring together representatives from more than 45 countries, making it one of the most significant multilateral parliamentary gatherings hosted by Pakistan. He underlined that the conference will deliberate on key global challenges including regional peace, sustainable development, climate change, and the need for collective strategies to address emerging threats.
\nOn this occasion, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq extended his heartfelt condolences to Chairman Senate on the demise of his cousin, Syed Tanveer ul Hassan Gilani. He paid tribute to the late Gilani, describing him as a pious and community-oriented individual whose religious, spiritual, and social services will long be remembered.
\nThe Speaker of National Assembly also assured of National Assembly\u2019s full support for the successful organizing of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers\u2019 Conference. He emphasized that the event is a vital opportunity for Pakistan to project its commitment to global dialogue, cooperation, and peacebuilding.
\nBoth leaders also exchanged views on the country\u2019s prevailing political and economic situation. A significant portion of the discussion was devoted to the devastating impact of the recent rains and floods, particularly the situation caused by India\u2019s release of floodwaters into the rivers of Punjab, which has aggravated human and material losses in the affected areas.
\nThey jointly appealed to the people of Pakistan to adopt precautionary measures in the wake of the ongoing natural calamity and extend full cooperation with the government and relevant authorities.
