\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has intensified disease surveillance and medical response efforts in flood-affected districts, examining more than 5,700 patients in a single day, according to an official spokesperson.
\nA total of 5,752 patients were treated across the flood-hit regions on August 28 alone, while mobile health teams provided services to 2,445 patients, the department said.
\nTo support the response, 136 static health camps and 36 mobile units remained operational throughout the day. The two districts most affected by communicable diseases are Dera Ismail Khan and Nowshera.
\nOn August 28, Dera Ismail Khan reported 1,143 cases each of respiratory infections, non-bloody diarrhea, scabies, eye infections, and malaria. In Nowshera, 1,116 cases each were recorded for non-bloody diarrhea, scabies, eye infections, and malaria.
\nAdditionally, 42 cases of bloody diarrhea were reported in Dera Ismail Khan and 36 in Nowshera. The districts also recorded cases of dengue, with five reported in Dera Ismail Khan and four in Nowshera.
