\nAn initial inquiry report has found the staff of King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, Mansehra, responsible for negligence in the death of young Khizar Khan, who was reportedly ignored by hospital personnel.
\nExpressing strong condemnation, Speaker Swati directed the health department to immediately suspend the implicated doctor and take stricter action based on the inquiry findings. The Health Department assured the Speaker that once the inquiry report is received via WhatsApp, the doctor will be suspended, and if negligence was confirmed, dismissal and cancellation of the medical license will follow.
\nA meeting chaired by Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Babar Saleem Swati, was informed by the Medical Superintendent (MS) that the inquiry report has been completed and confirmed evidence of staff negligence, said a handout.
\nThe meeting was convened following the tragic death of Khizar Khan at the hospital due to alleged medical negligence. Health Advisor Ihtesham Khan, senior officials from the Health Department, District Health Officer Mansehra, and the MS and Deputy Medical Superintendent (DMS) of King Abdullah Hospital attended the meeting. The father and brother of the deceased were also present in the meeting.
\nHealth Advisor Ihtesham Khan reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to providing quality healthcare and condemned any form of negligence or corruption, emphasizing its direct impact on human lives.
\nSpeaker Swati also expressed serious concerns over King Abdullah Hospital\u2019s current functioning, criticizing its role as merely a referral center despite modern facilities and trained staff. He instructed the Health Department to identify and remove obstacles, aiming to transform the hospital into a fully operational and effective health center within two months.
\nFurthermore, the Speaker stressed the need to replace inactive officers with young and dynamic professionals to ensure timely and quality services for the public. He took a firm stance that no one would be spared accountability, even if they were close relatives of those responsible.
\nIn addition, Speaker Swati raised the issue of the theft of an ultrasound machine from RHC Shankyari. Although the police were informed, no FIR had been registered.
