\nThe Peshawar Institute of Cardiology (PIC), a leading healthcare facility specializing in heart-related diseases, has warned that it may suspend treatment under the Sehat Card program from October 1 if outstanding payments were not cleared by State Life Insurance Corporation.
\nAccourding to an official communication sent to State Life, PIC stated that the insurance corporation owes the hospital Rs1.5 billion in unpaid dues. The hospital administration warned that the continued non-payment has severely impacted the supply of essential medicines and medical equipment.
\nFurthermore, PIC expressed concerns over the viability of State Life\u2019s new contract, calling it \u201cnot worth considering\u201d under the current financial circumstances.
\nOn the broader scale, the provincial government has also failed to release Rs 12 billion in arrears to State Life Insurance. According to officials from the Health Department, the provincial government was currently facing financial constraints, which have disrupted payments related to the Sehat Card initiative.
