Slams PECA & Anti-Terrorism Acts as human rights violations, 27th Amendment called a \u2018death warrant\u2019 for oppressed nations

\nThe Awami Tehreek organized a massive protest rally and sit-in in Kandhkot on Sunday against the state-backed rule of bandits, the proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment, corporate farming, and the construction of new dams and canals. The rally began from Ghanta Ghar Chowk and culminated at the Kandhkot Press Club, where a sit-in was staged.
\nThe protest was led by Advocate Vasand Thari, Central President of Awami Tehreek, along with Noor Ahmed Katiar, Central Senior Vice President, Advocate Sarwan Jatoi, District President of Awami Tehreek Kashmore-Kandhkot Advocate Asif Khoso, and other key leaders including Mansoor Bapar, Gulab Bapar, Saddam Khoso, Nawaz Bapar, Sultan Gajrani, Gul Hassan Bapar, Taj Khoso, and Saddam Bapar
\nAddressing the rally, Advocate Vasand Thari said that the Shahbaz-Bilawal coalition government has made a secret deal with the United States to hand over Sindh\u2019s natural resources to foreign powers. Sindh possesses huge reserves of oil and gas, which have become the target of U.S. imperialist interests. To gain control over these resources, lawlessness, terrorism, and the state-backed rule of bandits have been deliberately promoted in Sindh, he added.
\nHe further stated that terrorists are active in the cities while bandits operate freely in rural areas, and narcotics are being deliberately spread to destroy the future of Sindh\u2019s youth so they cannot stand up for the protection of their land and rivers.
\nAdvocate Vasand Thari highlighted that wheat and other essential food supplies are being smuggled to Afghanistan and other countries, while in return, drugs and weapons are smuggled into Sindh under full state patronage. He revealed that NATO weapons are being supplied to bandits in the riverine areas through feudal lords and government-backed tribal leaders. He accused the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and its tribal chiefs of directly controlling the abduction industry, stating, \u201cWithout the patronage of PPP\u2019s tribal chiefs, not a single person can be kidnapped in Sindh. These tribal chiefs have established a full-fledged abduction industry in Larkana and Sukkur divisions, turning the lives of people into misery.\u201d
\nSpeaking on the 27th Constitutional Amendment, Advocate Vasand Thari said that it is a plot to divide the country\u2019s historical nations, their cultures, and their very existence under the guise of creating new provinces. He warned that this amendment is nothing less than a death warrant for Sindhis, Balochs, Saraikis, Pashtuns, and Punjabis.
\n\u201cThe Sindhi nation will never accept this division and will continue its full-fledged struggle against this nefarious plan,\u201d he declared.
\nVasand Thari also condemned the PECA Act and the Anti-Terrorism Amendment Act, saying these black laws trample the Constitution and violate basic human rights. \u201cThe voices of 250 million people have been suppressed through these draconian measures. Citizens have been deprived of their fundamental right to a fair trial, while the judiciary has been placed under the control of feudal elites and capitalists,\u201d he said. \u201cBy bringing the judiciary and media under complete state control, an undeclared martial law has been imposed in the country,\u201d he added.
\nSpeaking at the sit-in, Central Senior Vice President Noor Ahmed Katiar highlighted the issue of corporate farming, revealing that millions of acres of land are being occupied by foreign companies under state sponsorship. Forests are being cut down, and even forest lands are being handed over to corporate farming companies, which is a devastating blow to Sindh\u2019s environment and agriculture, he said. He demanded an immediate halt to this policy and the urgent restoration of Sindh\u2019s forests.
\nDistrict President Advocate Asif Khoso shed light on the water crisis, stating that more than 91% of Sindh\u2019s water is being stolen by Punjab. The construction of new dams and canals is part of a sinister plan to completely block Sindh\u2019s share of water.
