\nAn important meeting held here on Tuesday with provincial minister for Aftab Alam Advocate in the chair, reviews mechanisms for the auction of condemned and unserviceable government vehicles at the provincial and district levels.
\nThe objective of the meeting was to develop a comprehensive system to ensure transparency in the auction process, safeguard public funds, and promote efficient utilization of government resources, a handout said.
\nRepresentatives from the Excise Department, Administration Department, Police Department, and Finance Department attended the meeting. The participants held a detailed discussion on the procedures for auction, vehicle inspection standards, and measures to ensure transparency. It was unanimously agreed that all stages of the auction process would be conducted through modern technology and under clearly defined rules and regulations.
\nThe meeting was informed that, to make the auction process effective at the district level, the provincial-level committee will initiate steps for devising mechanisms at the divisional and district levels. Furthermore, it was decided to establish a central monitoring committee to oversee all stages of the auction process to curb malpractices and promote public confidence.
\nThe participants also emphasized the need to provide comprehensive data of government vehicles being used in 36 districts to identify condemned and old vehicles for disposal through auction. It was further decided to develop a strategy for vehicles utilized in completed projects that fall under the Non-Current Project (NCP) category after project closure.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, Law Minister Aftab Alam Advocate highlighted the importance of ensuring the availability of relevant documents, vehicle re-registration, and addressing the legal aspects of vehicles declared as scrap. He directed all concerned departments to provide details of vehicles used in closed projects so they may be declared surplus.
\nIn conclusion, the Law Minister instructed all departments to submit their proposals at the earliest to implement the auction process efficiently and ensure the optimal use of government resources.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
