\nSugar mills have been given clean chit through inquiry report in sugar crisis.
\nThe responsibility of sugar crisis was shifted to less production of sugar cane due to weather situation.
\nSugar Advisory Board was given clean chit in the matter of enhancement in the price of sugar.
\nAccording to ministry of National Food Security documents government has given clean chit to sugar mills and all stake holders on the matter of recent sugar crisis and increase in the sugar price.
\nThe responsibility of increase in the prices of sugar has been shifted to climate situation and crops diseases.
\nAccording to the documents rapid increase in the prices of sugar has not occurred due to government decisions or policies but natural factors led to decrease in production of sugar which are out of human reach.
\nAs per ministry\u2019s documents any person or any institution cannot be held responsible for less production or price crisis.
\nAccording to documents government is taking sugar sector to deregulation. This decision is aimed at bringing stability in demand, supply and prices.
\nThe documents said the government is conducting the present import process directly without including sugar mills.
\nThe details of export of additional sugar have been presented in the parliament.
\nThe documents disclosed the decision to export additional sugar was made on the recommendations of sugar advisory board.
\nThis decision has been taken in 4 phases from June 13, 2024 to October 2024.
\nAs per documents decision for exporting sugar was taken due to surplus reserves of sugar. However crops were affected due to climate situation, intense hot weather and disease.
\nThe sugar cane production remained less than the estimated production by one million metric ton due to weather situation and disease. This was the reason that sugar prices rose at country level. However government had taken immediate steps to import sugar.
