BEIJING
\nChinese President Xi Jinping called on the international community to carry forward the spirit of the 1995 Beijing World Conference on Women and to accelerate global efforts toward women\u2019s all-round development.
\nHe made these remarks while delivering the keynote address at the opening ceremony of the Global Leaders\u2019 Meeting on Women, held in Beijing to mark the 30th anniversary of the landmark conference.
\nPresident Xi emphasized that women are \u201cimportant creators and promoters of human civilization\u201d and urged global leaders to foster an enabling environment where women can grow, thrive, and contribute to peace and progress.
\nHe outlined four key proposals: ensuring women\u2019s safety and participation in conflict resolution; promoting women\u2019s high-quality development through innovation and technology; improving governance and legal frameworks to protect women\u2019s rights; and deepening international cooperation under the United Nations framework.
\nHighlighting China\u2019s achievements, Xi noted that women now comprise over 40 percent of the national workforce and play leading roles in innovation and governance. He announced new commitments, including a US$10 million donation to UN Women, US$100 million in development cooperation funds, and 1,000 women-centered livelihood projects.
