KP has immense potential to grow export of Halal food products to regional countries, says SVP Muhammad Nadeem, SCCI, PHA jointly organise an awareness session on Halal Food and Beverages

\nSarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry demanded special incentives for Halal certified exporters along with reduction in fees, export rebate and tax-concessions to boost the Halal products and its share in the international market.
\nSCCI noted total volume of International Halal Economy has surged by $3trillion, calling it\u2019s a major achievement toward contribution of Halal food products in the global market in which only Halal Food Sector value over $1.3trillion whereas the financial Halal food sector, with approximately rapid growth of 10 percent per annum.
\nThe chamber said Pakistan is considered to be International Halal Gateway and efforts initiated by Pakistan Halal Food Authority. Nearly, there are 2.2billion Muslim consumers around the world, and now the Halal Food\/sector like cosmetic, pharmaceutical, tourism, fashion and logistics has exceeded Food.
\nSCCI said the estimates predict that the World Halal Industry would reach to $ 3.5trillion by 2028.
\nThese remarks were made by Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Senior Vice president Muhammad Nadeem while speaking during an awareness session Halal Food and Beverages organized by the chamber in collaboration with Pakistan Halal Food Authority here the SCCI House on Wednesday.
\nSession was attended by SCCI vice president Sabir Ahmad Bangash, Anjuman e Tajran Peshawar Chairman Shuakat Ali Khan, former vice president Javed Akhtar, members of the chamber\u2019s executive committee Aftab Iqbal, Saifulllah Khan, Abdul Naseer, President WCCIP Qurtul Ain, and Ihsanullah, Rashid Iqbal Siddiqui, Ghazanfar Ali Savul, Sikandar Iqbal, Ishtiaq Muhammad, Fazl e Wahid, office bearers, traders, importers and exporters attached with Halal Food Industries and Business and others.
\nSCCI SVP informed Pakistan\u2019s Halal meat export has recorded an increase by 27.9% in the last year, which is estimated at $512million.
\nHe added KP is a center for making of Halal products and export and has immense potential to grow halal products export to Afghanistan and Central Asian states.
\nPHA Director General Akhtar A. Bughio, Deputy Directors Mehmood Khan, Abdus Sami, Attaulalh, Assistant Directors Abdul Saboor, Zahoor Khan were briefed the participants about the significance and role of Halal food in global economy and growth.
\nDirector General of the PHA Akhtar A. Bughio said that authority was committed to strengthening its halal certification framework to align with global standards.
\nMr Bughio said that the role of PHA in ensuring that all consumables, including cosmetics and processed goods, are free from non-halal ingredients through a rigorous verification process.
\nSenior official said that PHA was dedicated to his role to identify halal products and certify and mark those products so that consumers have complete assurance regarding their purchases.
\nThe officials of the PHA have estimated that the globally halal market based on the needs and preferences of an estimated 1.6 billion Muslims worldwide has emerged as a powerful commercial arena.
\nThe PHA is responsible for compliance of international, regional, national standards, laws, rules and policies on halal products, Processes and Services, the officials said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
