The Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges expressed concern over the non-attendance of meeting by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL), urged that recurrence of such practice should be avoided in the future.
\nThe meeting was held on Tuesday, under the chairmanship of Muhammad Afzal, Member National Assembly (MNA) to discuss a Question of Privilege raised by Shagufta Jumani, MNA, against the CEO and Chief Operating Officer (COO), PIACL, said a press release.
\nThe MNA, Shagufta Jumani, while raising her Question of Privilege, claimed that the non-professional attitude exhibited by the PIA officials in the whole scheme of thought had caused moral stress.
\nThe committee, noting the CEO\u2019s absence, directed that he must attend the next meeting to brief members on the matter.
\nThe Committee deferred the Question of Privilege moved by Dr Darshan, MNA\/Mover, against the Member (Administration\/Finance), Capital Development Authority, due to the non-availability of Mover of Question of Privilege and the Member (Admin\/Finance), CDA.
\nThe meeting was attended by MNAs including Nasir Iqbal Bosal, Azhar Qayyum Nahra, Waseem Qadir, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan Nasar, Mir Khan Muhammad Jamali, Pir Syed Fazal Ali Shah Jillani, Mir Ghulam Ali Talpur, Shagufta Jumani, Ramesh Lal, Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan, Sanjay Perwani and Naeema Kishwer Khan.
