\nAwami National Party (ANP) Provincial President, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, expressed deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of police personnel in the tragic Hangu blast. In a statement, he condemned the attack that claimed the lives of SSP Operations Asad Zubair and two other police officers at a police check post in Hangu, calling the incident a heartbreaking loss.
\nHussain acknowledged the sacrifices made by the police in the line of duty, stating that while the police risk their lives to protect the public, they themselves were increasingly vulnerable. \u201cIf the guards were not safe, then only Allah is the protector of the people,\u201d he said, highlighting the dire security situation in the province.
\nThe ANP leader expressed concern over the rise of targeted killings, extortion, kidnappings for ransom, and other incidents of unrest, which have become routine across the province. He pointed out that these events raise serious questions about the performance and priorities of both the central and provincial governments. \u201cThe government\u2019s complete failure to restore peace has pushed the people into a state of despair,\u201d Hussain remarked.
\nMian Iftikhar Hussain criticized the rulers for leaving the public at the mercy of lawlessness and unrest, while failing to provide adequate support or encouragement to the police force.
