Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has denounced India\u2019s continued occupation and human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir, declaring 27 October as a Black Day in the region\u2019s history.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued on Monday, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that for the past 78 years, India has persistently violated the fundamental human rights of the Kashmiri people. \u201cFor nearly eight decades, India has trampled on the rights of Kashmiris, denying them their basic freedoms and suppressing their aspirations for self-determination,\u201d he stated.
\nPaying tribute to the resilience and courage of Kashmiris, the JUI-F leader said, \u201cOur Kashmiri brothers\u2019 steadfast struggle against Indian aggression is admirable. Despite oppression and injustice, their determination remains unwavering.\u201d
\nRehman emphasised that India\u2019s continued brutalities in the region will forever be remembered as one of the darkest chapters in history.
\nHe reaffirmed his party\u2019s commitment to standing by the Kashmiri people, saying, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam will remain stand shoulder to shoulder with Kashmiris in their just struggle for freedom.
\nThe veteran politician expressed optimism that the long fight for self-determination would ultimately succeed. \u201cThe sacrifices of the Kashmiri people will not go in vain. Their struggle for liberation will one day bear fruit,\u201d he added.
\nOctober 27 is observed annually as Kashmir Black Day to mark the day in 1947 when Indian forces landed in Srinagar, leading to the division and decades-long conflict over the disputed territory.
