\nChina Study Centre at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), in collaboration with China Media Group (CMG) and the Embassy of the People\u2019s Republic of China hosted here a cultural-academic event titled \u201cUnderstanding Xizang,\u201d.
\nIt was aimed at deepening mutual understanding and strengthening the academic and cultural bridge between Pakistan and China.
\nThe event brought together diplomats, scholars, and students to explore the cultural richness and modern transformation of Xizang, offering Pakistani audiences a window into the region\u2019s diverse traditions and contemporary progress, Gwadar Pro reported on Sunday.
\nAmong the distinguished guests were Chen Peng, Cultural Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy; Moin ul Haque, Former Ambassador of Pakistan to China; Khalid Taimur Akram, Representative of PRCCSF; and Dr. Hassan Daud Butt, Former CEO of the Special Economic Zones Authority.
\nThe dignitaries shared their experiences of China and encouraged students to seize opportunities for academic and cultural exchange.
\nDuring the event, a visually striking video was presented, showcasing Xizang\u2019s breathtaking landscapes, vibrant culture, and modern infrastructure. The presentation captivated the audience, especially the students, who were inspired by the region\u2019s beauty and development.
\nHuzaifa Rehman, Minister of State for National Heritage and Culture, was chief guest at the event. He said that the cultural exchange programs play a vital role in fostering mutual respect and understanding between Pakistan and China.
\nIn his concluding remarks, Prof. Dr. Sohail Ashar expressed gratitude to the guests and reaffirmed the importance of strengthening people-to-people connections. \u201cSuch activities are crucial for students to learn, grow, and appreciate the depth of our bilateral friendship,\u201d he noted.
