\nProvincial Minister for Irrigation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Riaz Khan, has said that concrete steps are being taken to establish an efficient and modern irrigation system across the province. He said that all projects of the Irrigation Department are aimed at ensuring the welfare and development of the people.
\nHe stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) firmly believes in progress, justice, and transparency, and under the vision of Chairman Imran Khan, a zero-tolerance policy against corruption is being strictly implemented in the province. The minister added that Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi commands the full confidence of Imran Khan and is taking effective measures for the province\u2019s development.
\nThe minister expressed these views during his visit to the Warsak Dam, where Secretary Irrigation Muhammad Ayaz, the Chief Engineer, and other relevant officials were also present. The Project Director briefed the minister in detail about various aspects of the \u201cRemodeling of Warsak Canal System\u201d project and informed him that around 78 percent of the work has been completed so far.
\nRiaz Khan inspected the under-construction 5-kilometer-long Auxiliary Tunnel and Pump House, and was apprised of the ongoing construction progress, technical aspects, project utility, cost, and challenges being faced.
\nThe minister said that completion of the Remodeling of Warsak Canal Project would not only irrigate thousands of acres of agricultural land in Peshawar and Nowshera, but would also significantly increase water flow and resolve irrigation shortages faced by farmers.
\nHe added that the construction of dams and irrigation projects would not only address water scarcity but also create new opportunities in agriculture, energy, tourism, and employment, ultimately strengthening the provincial economy.
\nRiaz Khan directed the concerned authorities not to compromise on construction quality and to take prompt measures to resolve any issues hindering the project. He emphasized that the public should have no complaints regarding the functioning of the Irrigation Department.
\nDuring the visit, the minister also planted a sapling as part of the ongoing tree plantation campaign inspired by Imran Khan\u2019s vision for a greener Pakistan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
