SK Hydro (Private) Limited has contributed USD 20,000 to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Flood Relief and Rehabilitation Fund, supporting post-disaster reconstruction in areas affected by the recent floods near the Suki Kinari Hydropower Project.
\nThe donation ceremony was attended by the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with Secretary of Relief, Rehabilitation & Settlement Department KPK, Director General of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority \u2013 PDMA KPK, and Deputy General Manager of SK Hydro (Private) Limited, said a press release issued on Thursday.
\nThe Chief Secretary expressed gratitude for SK Hydro\u2019s ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and its swift relief efforts during the floods.
\nHe emphasized that the Suki Kinari Hydropower Project has become a key pillar driving Pakistan\u2019s economic growth and supporting people\u2019s livelihoods through its clean, efficient and reliable power supply since it was commercially launched.
\nHe reaffirmed that government would continue supporting the project\u2019s development to expand its role in ensuring energy supply and driving green transformation.
\nFollowing the 2025 floods, SK Hydro quickly mobilized teams to repair infrastructure, clear waterways, and restore community access, while its staff jointly donated Rs 1,275,200 for local relief. The new USD 20,000 donation will further assist recovery and revitalize local economic activity.
\nThis USD 20,000 donation aims to further support disaster-affected areas near the project in post-disaster reconstruction and resumption of normal life and economic activities. These concrete actions demonstrate CEEC\u2019s commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities and its contributions to building a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era and advancing the all-weather friendship between the two nations.
\nFunded and operated by China Energy Overseas Investment Co., Ltd. (CEEC), the Suki Kinari Hydropower Project has already delivered over 3 billion kWh of clean electricity to Pakistan, reinforcing both energy security and sustainable growth.
\nThis USD 20,000 donation represents another significant practice in fulfilling its local development commitments.
