\nSenior office bearers and members of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry urged Peshawar Electric Supply Company to take measures for bifurcation of industrial and commercial feeders from domestic\/rural feeders, uninterrupted electricity supply, unannounced loadshedding and improvement and upgradation of power transmission and infrastructure system.
\nThe demand was made by SCCI\u2019 Senior Vice President Muhammad Nadeem and former presidents and senior members during a meeting with Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) Chief Executive Muhammad Zubair Khan here at the chamber house on Thursday.
\nMeeting attended by Chairman of Anjuman e Tajran Peshawar Shuakat Ali Khan, former presidents Malik Niaz Ahmad, Engr Maqsood Anwar Pervez, Riaz Arshad, Haji Muhammad Afzal, Fazal Moqeem Khan, former vice president and SVP IAP Haris Mufti, member of the chamber\u2019s executive committee Adnan Nasir, Abdul Majid and Syed Ejaz Ali Shah, Hamoodur Rehman and others.
\nPESCO Chief Engineer (Planning) Kashif Karim, Additional Manager Commercial Said Ghulam Khan, S.O to CEO PESCO Zeeshan Farid, XEN PDC Kashif Ali Awan, and PRO Usman Saleem were also present in the meeting.
\nMeeting thoroughly deliberated on matters pertaining to excessive electricity loadshedding without issuance of proper permit, tripping, low voltage, disconnection, outdated power infrastructure system, frequent blast incident of power transformers, overload and others.
\nSCCI office bearers and senior members said NEPRA rules have barred from carrying out disconnection on delay in payment of first power bill but PESCO is violating these rules, and asked to immediately stop the practice.
\nThe PESCO CEO Zubair Khan on the occasion apprised special incentive package for industrial consumers, stating that government has introduced plan for three years under which power tariff would be curtailed from Rs35.9 to Rs22.9 per unit on over and above consumption, offering an relief of Rs12 per unit.
\nSenior officer urged the industrialists to take full benefit from the government initiative for industrial growth.
\n\u201c7000 megawatts surplus electricity were available,\u201d
\nSCCI office bearers and senior members welcomed the new industrial tariff and emphasized the new industrial incentive should be implemented on overall electricity consumption of the industries instead of surplus, with further reduction in ratio of tariff.
