Sudanese families, nationals stage protest against RSF\u2019s war crimes in Darfur
\n ISLAMABAD
\nAmbassador of Sudan to Pakistan, Salih Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed Siddig on Tuesday in an emphatic address to the media drew the attention of the international community towards massacre and war crimes committed by the terrorist Rapid Support Force (RSF) militia in El Fasher city fallen recently to the rebel militia.
\nThe city is located in the western part of Sudan\u2019s Darfur region and the civilian population is being mercilessly killed by the RSF terrorist.
\nAmbassador Salih who was accompanied by the Defence Attache of the Embassy of Sudan, Maj Gen (PSC) Aldie Abdallah Alyayeb Ahmed and senior officials of the embassy shared with the media persons evidence how the RSF was still committing grave violations, massacres, organized ethnic cleansing against thousands of innocent Darfur civilians, since it had taken over the city of El Fasher on 27 October.
\n\u201cIt has committed genocide and created a catastrophic humanitarian situation in El Fasher burning hospitals, schools, homes, and civil service facilities and the RSF is now desperately trying to hide its crimes by burying the dead in mass graves and burning others,\u201d said the ambassador.
\nAll this is happening after a siege of the city and cutting off the aids and supplies from the city\u2019s residents for nearly two years, which had led to death of tens of thousands, he said.
\nThe Sudanese ambassador referred to many field reports which documented that within last two weeks, deaths are more than 3,500 civilians in El Fasher and the displaced are more than 70,000 persons. It is reported that the blood stains in El Fasher can be seen from the space.
\nThe ambassador accused the United Arab Emirates (UAE) of sponsoring and supporting the terrorist militia. The Emirates\u2019 government, he accused, was supporting the militia financially, militarily and politically and providing them with weapons and mercenaries. \u201cThis support for the terrorist militia is therefore, the main and fundamental factor of the continuation of the war and then the continuation of atrocities and all kinds of terrorist acts committed by the militia, and responsible of the aggravation of humanitarian situation in the Sudan,\u201d the ambassador said.
\nSudan calls upon the international community to take immediate action to halt external support for the terrorist militia and any form of negative interference in Sudan. We call on the international community to designate the RSF militia a terrorist organization, as its behavior and crimes prove, beyond a doubt, that it deserves to be designated a terrorist organization, he said.
\nWe also call on the international community to support the Sudanese government\u2019s political roadmap aiming to end the war and restore civil institutions, he said.
\nThe roadmap prioritizes a ceasefire, the protection of civilians, and the creation of the necessary conditions for a meaningful comprehensive national dialogue to achieve true national reconciliation. The roadmap has already been implemented by appointing a fully empowered civil prime minister, who on his side, appointed his cabinet.
\nLast week, the United Nations warned of an imminent famine in Darfur and also Kordofan, describing the situation in El Fasher as \u201cthe worst since the start of the conflict\u201d. The government of Sudan calls on the international community to provide assistance, including shelter, medicine and food, to the needy in Darfur and other regions of Sudan, in coordination with the government, he said.
