\nChief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, has directed all departments and district administrations to expedite reform efforts for improved public service delivery across the province. He appreciated the progress made since the first District Service Delivery Conference (DSDC) but stressed that swift and result-oriented measures are essential to meet the set targets.
\nHe expressed these views while presiding over the third meeting of DSDC. Additional Chief Secretary, Administrative Secretaries, Commissioners, and Deputy Commissioners attended the meeting.
\nThe Chief Secretary said that service delivery outcomes would be strictly linked with the performance appraisals of officers at the helm of affairs. \u201cThe bureaucracy must demonstrate consistent performance irrespective of circumstances,\u201d he emphasized.
\nHe further clarified that strict action will be taken against officers seeking transfers or postings through political or personal references. He said a new policy in this regard\u2014aimed at introducing stronger disciplinary measures\u2014will soon be introduced.
\nShahab Ali Shah directed regular inspections of public service facilities, timely review meetings, and strengthening public engagement and feedback mechanisms. He reaffirmed the government\u2019s resolve to deliver efficient and seamless services to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
\nThe forum was informed that public service delivery has improved by 13% since the first District Delivery Conference, now standing at 47%, with a target of 100% by December 2025. Seven key departments are being monitored for district-level service delivery through more than 200 indicators, while over 1,050 facilities have been inspected so far.
\nDistricts including Kohat, Bannu, Hangu, Orakzai, Battagram, Lakki Marwat, Kurram, and D.I. Khan have shown notable improvements since August.
\nIn the health sector, the meeting stressed achieving 80% doctor attendance in all districts. It was decided to conduct walk-in interviews for rapid hiring, ensuring all vacant posts of doctors are filled by end of November.<\/p>\n
The Chief Secretary directed that Local Government service delivery indicators must exceed 80% by the end of November.
\nThe Chief Secretary reaffirmed the province\u2019s resolve, stating: \u201cDespite challenges, all public service delivery targets will be achieved by December 2025.\u201d
\nOfficials were informed that grievance redressal through calls and Twitter\/X has been fast-tracked to ensure timely resolution of citizens\u2019 complaints. Deputy Commissioners have been directed to visit at least 32 facilities every month and effectively communicate progress to the public.
\nThe meeting was told that Farm Service Centers are performing better, while Kohat and Lower South Waziristan have achieved 100% performance in livestock civil veterinary hospitals. Teachers\u2019 attendance in October remained above 90%, while two long-closed schools in Lakki Marwat have been reopened.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
