\nFree advanced IT training designed to give youth a head start in employment and freelancing has enabled over 1,000 youngsters from Peshawar in just over a span of two years to turn their learning into practical success, empowering them to excel in both careers and entrepreneurship.
\nThe training organized as a flagship initiative by Aziz Jan Trust in collaboration with Saylani Welfare International has produced hundreds of success stories about transforming of young individuals, both male and female, from complete beginners in filed of Information Technology into skilled digital professionals who are now confidently serving national and international clients and making handsome earnings for their families.
\nSome of the beneficiaries started their journey from having zero computer knowledge and within months become successful entrepreneurs due to consistent efforts, dedication and expert mentorship arranged under the training programme.
\nA visit to Mohsin and Huma Mass IT (MHIT) training centre formed in 2023 at Peshawar revealed that hundreds of students mostly teenagers are earning by dealing with companies both locally and internationally in fields such as Python programming, cloud computing, web and mobile app development, graphic design, digital marketing, and video animation.
\n\u201cMHIT Centre is offering free IT training to young people with the vision of equipping the new generation with modern digital skills, enabling them to pursue self-employment opportunities through freelancing,\u201d says Sara Afan, Head of MHIT.
\nSince its beginning in 2023, MHIT has imparted IT skill training to around 5500 students out of which more than 1000 have achieved professional and entrepreneurial success by securing jobs or starting businesses, Sara told APP.
\nShe said in October 2025, MHIT organized a Hackathon to provide a competitive and collaborative environment where students can create innovative solutions, network with peers and industry professionals and gain a competitive edge for future careers.
\nThe Hackathon was attended by 250 students including a boy in eight grade and some of the projects were selected by renowned IT companies, Sara added.
\nShe continued that, besides technical IT training, MHIT is also focusing on career counselling by guiding students on professional profile development, enhancing communication skills, improving their interview presentation and confidence.
\nEven after course completion, students continue to receive mentorship and guidance from trainers at MHIT, helping them to further improvement in their skills and professional network.
\nShe also shared that work on construction of an incubation centre and auditorium hall within the premises of MHIT is completed which will further improve learning of students and add to their professional competence.
\nSeveral beneficiaries shared personal success stories, highlighting as how the program had enabled them to become financially independent and confident contributors to the digital economy of the country.
\nIlham Nadeem, a female BS Physics degree holder, has become a successful entrepreneur with 33 employs just through learning Graphic Design course from MHIT.
\nIlham has launched a thriving crochet product startup in the name of Fleur and generating a profit margin of hundreds of thousands of rupees on monthly basis, she shared with confidence visible on her face.
\nAbdul Basit Mujeeb who joined second batch of MHIT had no prior knowledge of computers or programming, but six months of learning of modern web technologies such as MERN Stack, Next.Js, Tailwind CSS and Node.js, made him a proud founder of a web-based company, GuGlobe, serving international clients and generating a very suitable monthly earning.
\nBasit vision is to grow GuGlobe into a large software house employing hundreds of talented engineers and to contribute to Pakistan IT ecosystem.
\nAnother beneficiary, Shafaq Maqsood, who joined MHIT with just an FSc education and no prior exposure to professional software development, has secured a software engineering internship with a company working on international projects that contribute to real world applications.
\n\u201cShafaq plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information Technology from a reputed university to build a career in digital marketing.\u201d
\n\u201cThe success of more than one thousand youngsters in a couple of years proves that students with limited formal education can excel in the tech world when equipped with proper training, mentorship and practical exposure,\u201d remarked Sara Afan.
