\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Department of Education has taken a initiative by preparing a special action plan for the province\u2019s 4.92 million out-of-school children.
\nAs a first step, the department has compiled comprehensive data of children who are not currently enrolled in schools.
\nAccording to the official document on Thursday, Alternative Learning Pathway Centers will be established to provide educational and training opportunities for these children.
\nIn addition, Girls\u2019 Community Centers will be set up across various districts to encourage enrollment and focus on girls\u2019 education.
\nThe document further states that prefabricated schools will be built in colder regions of the province, while existing schools will be upgraded. It is also expected that the introduction of online classes may help reduce the number of out-of-school children.
\nTo further support this effort, the government plans to introduce education cards, establish IT labs and outsource school management in certain areas.
\nThe report indicate that 77% of children are out of school due to four main reasons, with 25% affected by poverty and 10% lacking access to nearby schools. These challenges have been identified as key barriers to education in the province.
