\nLaw-enforcement agencies have made a major breakthrough in the investigation of the suicide blast at the Judicial Complex G-11, arresting four members of the terrorist cell linked to the outlawed TTP\/Fitna al-Khawarij who facilitated the attack. In a joint intelligence-based operation conducted by the Intelligence Bureau and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), the entire operational cell involved in planning, guiding, and executing the suicide bombing\u2014 including its handler \u2014 has been dismantled, an official told media on Friday. During interrogation, the handler, Sajidullah alias Sheena, confessed that he had been directed via Telegram by TTP\/Fitna al-Khawarij commander Saeed-ur-Rehman alias Daadullah, a resident of Charmang, Bajaur, currently based in Afghanistan and serving as the group\u2019s intelligence chief for Nawagai, Bajaur, to carry out a suicide attack in Islamabad with the intent to cause maximum casualties among law-enforcement personnel.
\nAccording to investigators, Daadullah sent photographs of the suicide bomber \u2014 Usman alias Qari, a member of the Shinwari tribe and a resident of Achin, Nangarhar, Afghanistan \u2014 to Sajidullah so he could receive him upon arrival in Pakistan. When the bomber crossed into Pakistan from Afghanistan, Sajidullah arranged his stay at a safe location on the outskirts of Islamabad.
\nFollowing Daadullah\u2019s instructions, Sajidullah collected a suicide jacket from Akhun Baba graveyard in Peshawar and transported it to Islamabad. On the day of the incident, he personally fitted the suicide vest on Usman alias Qari before dispatching him towards the Judicial Complex.
\nOfficials said the attack was planned with the clear aim of inflicting maximum loss of life on law-enforcement agencies and disrupting security in the federal capital.
\nThe investigation further revealed that the Afghanistan-based TTP\/Fitna al-Khawarij leadership supervised the network at every stage \u2014 from recruitment and movement to supply of explosives and target selection. The entire cell, including the operational commander and three accomplices, has now been arrested.
