The Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM) proudly represented Pakistan at the 6th Global Water Operators\u2019 Partnerships (WOPs) Congress held in Bonn, Germany Organized by the Global Water Operators\u2019 Partnerships Alliance (GWOPA) under UN-Habitat, the event brought together over 550 delegates from 70 countries to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing in the global water and sanitation sector. The WSSCM delegation led by Chairman Board of Directors Engr. Adil Nawaz, Chief Executive Officer Shahid Khan, and Senior Manager Planning and Projects Imran Zaman actively participated in plenary sessions, technical discussions, and field visits, showcasing Pakistan\u2019s achievements in water utility reforms and innovation. During the congress, WSSCM presented its successful implementation of the Europe Union WOP Phase I Project, highlighting key milestones such as reducing non-revenue water (NRW) from 52% to 39%, introducing SCADA based monitoring for six tube wells, improving revenue collection by 11% and training over 100 staff members in operations, billing, and customer services. \nA poster titled \u201cTransforming Utility Performance in Pakistan\u201d was also displayed, drawing attention to WSSCM\u2019s strides in digitalization, customer engagement and urban resilience.
\nThe four day event, themed \u201cSolidarity in Action: Stronger Utilities for Thriving Cities,\u201d emphasized collaboration, climate resilience, and the human right to water and sanitation. WSSCM delegates also participated in a technical visit to the Salierweg Wastewater Treatment Plant, gaining valuable insights into sustainable wastewater management and automation systems relevant to Mardan\u2019s future infrastructure.
