\nInternational Monetary Fund (IMF) has said in its report that corruption is permanent challenge in Pakistan and political and economic elite is hampering economic development by encroaching upon state policies.
\nIMF has issued report about governance and corruption.
\nThe IMF while identifying apprehensions of persistent corruption in Pakistan has called for launching its 15-point reform agenda forthwith.
\nThe ambit of this report is restricted to corruption and governance at federal level.
\nThe report recommends for abolishing special incentives in government contracts, enhancing transparency of SIFC decisions and stringent parliamentary surveillance over fiscal powers of government.
\nThe report has laid emphasis on introducing reforms in anti corruption institutions.
\nRaising questions on powers, exemptions and transparency of SIFC demanded for immediate release of annual report by SIFC.
\nIt has been said in the report all government purchases be brought on e-governance system within 12 months. Enormous transparency and accountability is must in policy making and implementation.
\nElite class is impeding the economic growth for filling their pockets. The amount which is devoured in corruption can lead to scale up productivity and development in Pakistan.
\nPakistan economy can be improved from 5 to 6.5 percent through and Pakistan can increase GDP upto 6.5 percent. Benefit is being afforded to sugar sector through government policies, subsidies and incentives. People expectations are ballooning while tendency to tolerate corruption is declining.
