\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa\u2019s Finance Advisor Muzzammil Aslam has raised concerns over the federal distribution of tax revenues, accusing the federal government of favoring Punjab in the allocation of funds.
\nIn a statement issued here, Aslam highlighted that Punjab received a 16 percent increase in federal revenue allocation this year, a notable rise compared to last year\u2019s figures.
\nHe further pointed out that Punjab\u2019s share, which now stands at Rs882, significantly outpaces the allocations to other provinces.
\nWhile Sindh received Rs441 billion, a 13 percent increase and KP Rs287 a 12pc, Balochistan received only Rs164, marking a \u201cshameful\u201d 5pc increase.
\nAslam emphasized that given the ongoing challenges of terrorism and underdevelopment in the province and Balochistan, the federal government should have allocated more funds to these provinces. He argued that the narrative around Punjab\u2019s projects being larger or more significant than those in other provinces was misleading, urging the federal government to clarify its position and adopt a fair, equitable policy for all regions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
