A meeting of the administrative secretaries\u2019 committee was convened under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman at the Civil Secretariat here on Tuesday.
\nThe meeting reviewed the performance of government departments, progress on the e-Biz portal, the e-Filing and Office Automation System (e-FOAS), and the overall functioning of public sector companies and authorities.
\nDuring the briefing, the chief secretary was informed that the e-Biz portal has received 10,000 applications to date, of which 8,000 have already been processed and approved through the fully digital system.
\nThe chief secretary directed all provincial departments and offices to ensure the timely disposal of applications received via the e-Biz portal. Calling the initiative a \u2018transformative step\u2019 of the Punjab government, he said the platform enables citizens to access government services conveniently from their homes.
\nHe added that the government is committed to leveraging information technology to simplify processes and improve public service delivery.
\nEmphasizing the benefits of paperless governance, the chief secretary said that digital systems have brought transparency and modern practices into official workflows. He noted that e-FOAS has significantly accelerated work efficiency and reduced dependence on traditional paper-based file management.
\nThe chief secretary further highlighted that administrative and financial reforms are essential for improving departmental performance and strengthening service delivery mechanisms. He also instructed relevant departments to conduct a comprehensive review of the administrative and financial affairs of public sector companies and authorities and submit detailed reports.
\nEarlier, the Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) gave a detailed presentation on the progress of the e-Biz portal and e-FOAS. He informed participants that the digitization of service delivery across all government departments, attached bodies, and field offices is underway. He added that all verification and approval processes on the e-Biz portal are executed digitally, eliminating the need for physical files at any stage.
\nThe meeting was attended by the Additional Chief Secretary, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Chairman Planning and Development, and administrative secretaries of all provincial departments.
