\nProvincial Minister for Health, Khaliq ur Rehman, chaired an important meeting on Tuesday regarding the issuance of appointment letters to 51 newly inducted Medical Officers (MOs). Director General Health Services Dr. Shahid Younus and senior officials of the Health Department attended the meeting.
\nThe minister was briefed that the recruitment process began in July 2025, when 115 vacancies were advertised on a merit basis through EATA. So far, 111 doctors have been appointed, while recruitment of the remaining 51 consultants has also been completed. Of these, 30 belong to attractive specialties and 21 to non-attractive specialties.
\nDuring the meeting, the minister handed over 24 appointment letters to selected doctors, while offer letters were issued to the remaining candidates.
\nOfficials informed the minister that the second phase of recruitment is also underway to address the shortage of doctors in the province.
\nUnder this phase, 207 positions are being filled through EATA. Interviews for 32 dental surgeons have been completed, while tests for 165 Medical Officers have been held, with interviews scheduled soon.
\nKhaliq ur Rehman was briefed on the transparency and fairness of the induction process. He urged the newly appointed doctors to work with dedication, honesty, and professionalism, adding that the provincial government is committed to meaningful reforms in the health sector.
\nExpressing satisfaction over the recruitment process, the minister said there is no room for irregularities and that the province needs competent and qualified professionals to strengthen basic health services. He stressed that improving the healthcare system requires collective effort, strong management, and coordination.
