\nCompetition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) Spokesperson Sajid Gondal Tuesday, declared a firm crackdown with zero tolerance for the private school system, accused of pushing parents into buying expensive, branded supplies, warning of tough legal consequences.
\nTalking to a private news channel, he explained that the Commission is taking all necessary legal steps against the school systems involved, adding, the action targets networks with multiple branches and coordinated teams that have allegedly been compelling parents to purchase costly, branded supplies.
\nHe added that the CCP initiated this process after conducting a detailed inquiry and field survey, which confirmed serious concerns raised by parents. According to him, the findings provided sufficient grounds to move forward with strict enforcement measures.
\nThe spokesperson noted that many private schools were not cooperating during the investigation and several institutions were failing to provide the required data that we had asked them. He further revealed that this lack of cooperation is not new, as the Commission had initially requested such information back in 2015, but many schools did not respond even then.
\nThe CCP, he emphasized, is determined to enforce accountability and ensure fair practices in the education sector. Responding to a query, he said numerous parents had lodged complaints about these schools, categorically reporting that schools were forcing them to buy logo-branded books and other costly items.
\nTo another question, he said private school systems have the option to pursue further legal forums, but the CCP remains fully committed to taking action under its rules and will not spare any institution that exploits consumers through unfair pricing or unjustified practices.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
